Luas Broombridge (Line D)

Project Overview Luas Line D

Luas Line D is the proposed Luas line from the city centre to Broombridge via Broadstone/Grangegorman. It will join with Luas Line BX, the planned cross city Luas Link between the Red and Green lines. Luas Line D  has now completed the  Public Consultation Stage, which began in September 2008.  It is intended that an application for a Railway Order for the combined Luas Line D and Luas Line BX will be made in 2009.

Luas Line D will provide convenient access to the planned Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) unified campus facility at Grangegorman, which will accomodate third level educational facilities for over 20,000 students.

At Broombridge, Line D will provide interchange with Iarnród Eireann's Maynooth line services. Importantly, the location and siting of this stop will enable an onward possible future extension to Finglas and ultimately interchange with Metro West.

Luas Line D is part of the Government's Transport 21 investment programme.
