Metro West

Phase 4: Build & Operation Permission

At this phase, permission to build and operation, RPA will submit a Railway Order Application to An Bord Pleanála to develop Metro West. This will be followed by Oral Hearing and a decision on the granting of the Railway Order to RPA by An Bord Pleanála.

All of the work carried out on Metro West will be in accordance with the final approved plans for the line which have been the subject of several years of planning and consultation.

RPA has now taken all information from the existing phases with a view to building and making operational a light rail line. At this phase RPA will invite potential contractors to procure their services for the building of Metro West. RPA will award contracts for supplies, services and works required for the development and delivery of this project. RPA will put in place the necessary contracts with suppliers and service providers for the successful development of Metro West.

Metro West is proposed to be delivered as a PPP scheme under the governments transport investment strategy, Transport 21.
