Organisational Structure

RPA is a state agency responsible for ensuring the provision of light rail and metro infrastructure while delivering top quality passenger services.  

The Railway Procurement Agency’s Board makes decisions relating to the agency's activities in light rail, metro and passenger projects. The Board comprises of the Chairman, Agency CEO, four external members and one elected employee representative member. The board of RPA is supported in its functions by the Secretary to the Agency, who is also the agency solicitor.

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day running of the agency in attaining its objectives. These activities in light rail, metro and ITS are achieved through Corporate Services, Finance, Design & Construction and Project Services. An Internal Audit function also reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Corporate Services is made up of Human Resources, Information Technology, Public Relations, Marketing and Facilities.

Finance is made up of Financial Control, Financial Accounts, Treasury, Invoice Control and Internal Payroll.

RPA Design & Construction is made up of Engineering Design, Traffic Management, Transport Planning, Environment and Health & Safety.

Project Services is made up of Procurement, Quality Control, Project Commercial, Planning Management and Risk Management.  There are also project teams for each of the Luas and Metro projects in development.

RPA Head Office is located on Parkgate Street, Dublin 8 with another office at the Red Cow, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.
