RPA-Luas Art Competition 2011 - Winner
Peter O’Sullivan is the overall winner of this year’s competition for his entry ‘Knight in shining armour’. Peter O'Sullivan is 32 year old award winning graduate of Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology whose goal is to pursue a successful career in digital media; he is currently working on a number of digital media projects with various companies.
Luas to Peter is like a reliable friend who drops you to work every morning and is always waiting outside to collect you afterwards, the idea of reliability and the concept ‘Luas and me’ prompted him to think of Luas as a kind of hero who would ‘rescue’ you from the rain when you're stuck in town, laden down with shopping! The old phrase ‘a knight in shining armour seemed appropriate for the piece given the concept and the appearance of the Luas itself’.
