COMMERCIAL OPPORTUNITIES FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS  

Q. What Commercial Opportunities does RPA have?

A.  The RPA has opportunities for advertising both on trams and at Luas stops. Retail kiosk opportunities at the Beechwood, Ranelagh and Smithfield stops also exist. Possible opportunities also exist for use of excess capacity on underground ducts and fibrotic cables. Further opportunities such as locating antennae on structures are also possible.

Q. When are RPA Commercial Opportunities available?

A. Commercial opportunities are available on an ongoing basis for existing Luas lines. Opportunities for Metro and new Luas lines will be available following construction and commencement of operations.

Q. How do I contact RPA about Commercial Opportunities?

A.  JC Decaux manage advertising on trams and stops under contract with the RPA. If you are interested in advertising on Luas please contact JC Decaux. Retail kiosk opportunities are managed by Lisney. Other commercial opportunities are listed on the E-tenders website (www.etenders.gov.ie).

Q. Where are RPA Commercial Opportunities?

A. Commercial opportunities are located at Luas stops, on trams and structures.

Q. Are Commercial Opportunities just available on Trams & Stops?

A. Opportunities also exist on structures along the Luas lines, across the entire Luas route and in Luas depots at Redcow and Sandyford.

Q. Is advertising the only form of Commercial Opportunity on Luas or Metro?

A. No there are also opportunities for retail kiosks. Possible opportunities also exist for use of excess capacity on underground ducts and fibrotic cables. Further opportunities such as locating antennae on structures are also possible.

Q. How do I book Advertising Media on RPA Projects?

A. JC Decaux manage advertising on Luas under contract with the RPA. Please contact JC Decaux if you would like to book advertising.

Q. How long do Advertisements run on Luas or Metro Trams & Stops?

A. Advertisements currently run on a two week cycle. I.E. Space for advertising is rented in two week blocks. Contact JC Decaux for further details.

Q. Are there any restrictions to what products or services that can be advertised on Luas or Metro?

A. Legal and regulatory requirements apply. Adverts should also not detract from the Luas brand or from passengers’ experience of using Luas.

Q. When will commercial opportunities open for Metro North and Metro West?

A. Opportunities will be tendered just prior to commencement of operations.

Q. What are the Commercial Opportunities for Property on Luas & Metro?

A. Retail opportunities exist currently on Luas. For further information on retail space or other retail opportunities contact Lisney for further info.

Q. When the new RPA Projects for Luas & Metro open will there be more Commercial Opportunities?

A. Yes advertising space and retail space will increase as new lines open. There will be new stops including underground stops for Metro. There will also be an increased number of trams in circulation.
