What Is RPA Procurement?

Public procurement relates to the contracts awarded for supplies, services, and works by public authorities and public undertakings.

The contracting entities (Government Bodies) awarding these contracts are required to follow certain procedural rules in putting out their contracts to tender. The procedural rules apply to contracts exceeding set threshold values, but the principles extend to all contract awards.

Complete guides to the relevant national and EU legislation governing Public Procurement are available on http://www.e-tenders.gov.ie/

RPA is a state agency established in December 2001 under the Transport (Railway Infrastructure) Act, 2001. RPA is responsible for ensuring the provision of light rail and metro infrastructure and top quality passenger services.

RPA has successfully delivered two Luas Lines, two line extensions are under construction, with a third now entering construction. RPA have four more Luas Lines and two Metro Lines planned.  RPA is also leading in the development of an Integrated Ticketing System for public transport in Ireland.

RPA procurement relates to all contracts awarded for supplies, services and works required for the development and delivery of all RPA projects.
